by sub-section (3) of section 23 olthe Cujarat Primary Education Act, 1947
(Bom. LXIof lg4l)the Govemment of Gujarat hereby makes the following
rules to provide for regulating the method of Special Competitive
Examination for promotion to the post of Assistant Education Inspector,
Class III. in the Subordinate Services under the Director of Primary
Education or Respective District or Municipal Primary Education
Committee, namely:-
l. Short title, commenccmenl and application.-
(a) 1'hese rules may be called the Assistant Iiducation Inspector, Class III
(Special Competitive Examination) Rules, 2023.
(b) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the
O.fficial Gazette.
(c) They shall apply to the person who is eligible to be appointed as an
Assistant Education Inspector. Class III, in the Subordinate Services
under the Director of Primary llducation or Respective District or
Municipal Primary Education Committee.
2. Definitions.-
ln these rules, unless the context otherwise requircs,-
(a) "Appendix" means an Appendix appendcd to thcse rules;
(b) "Appointed date" means the date on which ihese rules shall come into
lorce;
(c) "Assistant Education Inspector" mcans the Assistant Education
Inspector, Class III in the Subordinale Serviccs of the Directorate ol
Primary Education or Respective District or Municipal Primary
Education Comm ittee:
(d) "Board" means the State Examination Board, Gandhinagar;
(e) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Slate Examination Board.

(f) "Examination", means the Special Competitive Examination for
promotion to the post of Assistant Education Inspector, Class III,
which shall include the Written Examination as specified in these
rulesl
(g) "Government" means the Govemment of Gujarat;
(h) "paper" means any question paper set at an Examination;
(i) "relevant recruitment rules" means the prescribed recruitment rules for
the post of Assistant Education Inspector, Class Ill, in the Subordinate
Services of the Directorate of Primary Education or Respective
District or Municipal Primary Education Committee.
3. Eligibility to appear in Examination.-
The candidate who possesses the requisite qualifications, for the
post of Assistant Education Inspector, Class III, in the Subordinate
Services ol the Directorate of Primary Education or Respective District or
Municipal Primary Education Committee, prescribed under the relevant
recruitment rules shall be eligibte for admission to the Examination.
Provided that no person shall be eligible to appear in the examination if
any deparlrnental inquiry or legal tnatter regarding seniority or date of
appointment is pending befbre the court of law on the date of application.
4. Holding of Examination.-
( 1 ) The Board, on receiving the requisition from the Government in
lrducation I)epartment or as the case may be the Directorate of
Primary Education, shall hold a Special Cornpetitive Examination for
selection of the candidates for the promotion to the post of Assistant
Education Inspector, Class IIl, in the Subordinate Services of the
Directorate of Primary Education or Respective District or Municipal
Primary Education Committee.
(2) The date, time and the places for hotding the Examination shall be
decided by the Board.
(3)The candidate shall be required to attend all the stages of Examination
at their own expenses on the date, tinte and places as may be notified
by the Board.
(4) The application for Examination shall be made online only. The
online applications shall be accepted by the Board in the format
specified by the Board itself.
5. Mode of Examination and Syllabus.-
( I ) The Examination shall be held only in one stage of Written
Examination as specified in APPENDIX-A. I'he syllabus for
Examination shall be as mentioned in APPENDIX-A appended to
these rules.
(2) The Board on receiving the inslructions liom the Directorate of
Primary Education, shall hold the Written Examination, which shall
consists of one paper of 200 (Two Hundred) marks" The paper shall
be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQs) type and without books only.
(3)l'he medium of Examination shall be Gujarati or E,nglish or Hindi as
per the instructions given in the paper.
6. Decision of the Board shall be final.-
( I ) No candidate shall be allowed to appear at the Examination unless the
Board is satisfied that the candidate -
(a) possesses the requisite qualifications under the relevant
recruitment rules of the post,
(b) has paid the requisite fees along with the application, and
(c) is eligible in all respect and complies with all the requirements for
appearing in the Examination.
(2)The decision of the Board as to the eligibility of a candidate for
admission to the Examination shall be final.
(3) Subsequently, if, at any time. the candidate is found ineligible to
appear at the Examination. his candidature shall be treated as
cancelled and if already selected and appointed, his appointment shall
be treated as cancelled ab-initio.
7. Standard for passing Examination,-The Standard for passing the
Examination shall be forty percent (40%) for general candidate and five
percent (5%) relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidate of the total marks
assigned to a paper.
