The Gujarat State Employees Union has announced that all the employees of the state government will go on collective leave from September 1. However, without getting any positive response from the government, the movement has been sparked with a one-week shutdown. If outstanding issues are not resolved by August 30, all employees will be on Mass CL, pen down from September 1.

And eventually an indefinite strike will be lifted.

Geetaba Chauhan, president of the Mahamandal, says that he has repeatedly submitted to the government on the issue of pending questions. However, there is no solution. Finally, as decided in the general meeting held on 9th August, we are all ready to take up the weapon of strike against the government. The government had challenged the decision given by the High Court to abolish the fixed wage policy in the Supreme Court 10 years ago. There are age-old demands like withdrawal of this petition, mediclaim in the limit of 10 lakhs, retirement age limit of 60 years, cancellation of departmental examination for higher pay scale after 45 years. Which has not yet been resolved. In case the old pension scheme is not implemented, government employees fear of going on strike and offer regular recruitment by stopping outsourcing in classes 3 and 4.

While the employees of various cadres are currently on strike in the state due to pending issues, in the meeting called by the state's largest employees Mahamandal regarding the pending issues, the programs have been announced to go on strike if the demands including the old pension scheme are not decided. Employees from across the state are associated with the Mahamandal, so that the impact of the strike can be seen widely. Geetaba Chauhan, President of the State Employees' Union, said that the representatives of the organizations affiliated to the Union and the office-bearers of the district unit were present in the meeting of the Union of Employees.

In which issues like starting old pension scheme, allotment of housing to plot employees, increase in retirement age limit, regular recruitment by stopping outsourcing in class 3 and 4 were discussed.

Although no positive response has been received from the government regarding the pending issues, if the government does not take an immediate decision, it has been unanimously decided to hold programs like statewide rally, mass CL, pendown and indefinite strike. It has also been decided to take action against Sanjay Patel and Girish Patel who misused the Mahamandal's letterpad.
