The state government will decide on the reduction in the curriculum
A committee has been formed by the Board of Education to make recommendations regarding cuts in the board curriculum. It will report to the Board of Education. The committee is likely to recommend a 30 per cent reduction in the syllabus as the CBSE has also reduced the course by 30 per cent, though the final decision on how much to reduce the syllabus will be taken by the state government.
Two chapters may be omitted from the syllabus
The curriculum can be revised only after the academic year 2021-22. Std. 10 and 12 examinations are conducted by the Board of Education. In which two chapters are deleted from the syllabus, no questions will be asked in the question papers of the board. The committee will also recommend which chapters to cancel from the syllabus. Care will be taken to ensure that chapters that are damaged in higher education or competitive examinations are not canceled. The Gujarat Board will cut the syllabus for the second year in a row and the first and second term syllabus will also be decided.
