SCOPE - Society for Creation of Opportunities through Proficiency in English

SCOPE established in 2007 by the education department, Government of Gujarat and SCOPE has enrolled 6,00,000+ candidates across Gujarat. It is great achievement of SCOPE.

SCOPE has been functioning since 13 years in association with Cambridge English, part of the University of Cambridge, UK for providing assessment, evaluation and international certification.

SCOPE programme keeps into account the key concepts of governance like convenience, affordability, equity, inclusivity and accessibility.

SCOPE (Society for Creation of Opportunity through Proficiency in English), established in
2007, by the Government of Gujarat to build English language proficiency in the youth of
Gujarat and thereby create employment opportunities for them has been the most successful
programmefor the purpose of providing English language training to candidates SCOPE
programme is centered on three challenges of education - Access, Equity and Quality.The
programme runs into PPP (Public Private Partnership). The team is led by A.J. Pankaj Joshi,
IAS, Principal Secretary (Higher & Technical Education) and Sh. A.J. Shah, IAS,
Commissioner, Higher Education, Govt. of Gujarat.
SCOPE is a very novel programme for gaining the required proficiency in English language. On
regular basis, SCOPE’s English lectures are also telecast to more than 600 colleges under
Sandhanprogramme of KCG from BISAG studio, Gandinagar.
Major highlights of the programmeare:
• PPP centers are controlled through Five Zonal Training Partners (ZTPs).
• Presence in all districts of Gujarat.
• International Certification by Cambridge English, part of the University of Cambridge, UK.
• Enhancing the employability and showcasing the proficiency of English.
• BULATS equivalency to IELTS and other international tests.
• Training of 90 hours at each level - face to face classroom training as well as practice on;
computers using language learning software’s.
• Training programmeis being developed on the Common European Framework (Level A1 to
C2, six levels) of Reference.
• Quality Assurance Cell (QAC) to grade SCOPE centers in A, B & C categories.
• Online MIS (Management Information System) for various processes.
SCOPE not only provides learning opportunities but also placement opportunities for its pass out
candidates. SCOPE provides trainer, audio-visual material, books, sample question papers,
learning resources, and online examination for the candidates.
International Assessment and Certification:
Structure of programme and fee The English Language Training programme is being developed
on the Common European Framework of Reference which is mapped with ALTE levels.
