Vaccine
Vaccination of all citizens above the age of 18 years will start from May 1, the Union government announced after a number of meetings held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government has also decided that vaccine companies will provide 50 per cent of their supply to the center. The remaining 50 per cent of the supply could be given to the state governments or sold on the open market. Registration through Covin will be required in advance for vaccination.

The government said in a statement after a record 2.73 lakh cases were registered in the country in a single day. So far the government has only allowed frontline workers and people over the age of 45 to be vaccinated. The first or second dose of the vaccine has been given to 12.38 crore people across the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government is working hard to ensure that as many Indian citizens as possible are vaccinated in the shortest possible time.
