In addition to GCERT, the Sarva Shikshan Abhiyan and various offices of higher education have been working hard to ensure that students' education is maintained at home when schools and colleges are closed due to the Corona virus.
The plan includes study from home, virtual classroom, distribution of textbooks as well as assessment activities.
Through video conferencing from Gandhinagar, by contacting the DPEOs, DEOs, Principals of District Education and Training Bhavan, BRCs, CRCs and principals of private schools in all the districts of the state, efforts are being made at the district level The work is extensively reviewed.
According to reports from most of the districts, educational materials have been distributed to students in 60 to 70 per cent of the areas, at the same time they are being used and the remaining areas will also be covered. Especially in primary education, educational materials have been distributed to students and teachers through social media and technology to more than 3 lakh students from Std. 6 to 8 and students are using these educational materials from home.
The work that is being done to sustain the academic work of the students through social media even in the midst of very difficult and challenging times is highly commendable.
This is the time for us to turn disaster into opportunity. It is commendable that the teachers are using this time to work towards the development of the creative power of the children.
